How to Stay Awake in a Blue Pill World

By Doug Craig
1. Realize that no matter how much we think we know, there is always more. We must remain humble like children, ready to surrender to where truth may guide us.

2. Realize that we are surrounded by others who do not get “it.” These are Blue Pill People. They are stuck in the System and cannot imagine life beyond the Matrix.

3. Realize we are all a mixture of Red and Blue, that we are not better for our awareness. We are all evolving in our knowledge of our essential unity with creation.

4. Realize that judging one another, blaming one another, being critical and contemptuous is not helpful. Deep compassion and understanding on the other hand is vital.

5. Realize that our responsibility as awakening people is to seek the truth, know the truth and speak the truth. While we listen carefully to others with deep respect, we also take responsibility to confront a social and political system which requires us to be passive and unconscious consumers in a commercial culture instead of conscious and creative citizens in a participatory democracy.

6. Realize that there are few institutions in society now which defend our most cherished core principles of equality, opportunity, freedom, peace, justice and truth although many adopt the rhetoric to advance their propagandist cause of social control. The few institutions which do speak truth to power and demand and defend an awakened populous are Independent Media and the worldwide Network of Spiritual Progressives.

7. Realize that while we respect and support one another and refrain from judgments and criticisms, we accept our responsibility to become awake, aware and active while looking for ways to educate others about this reality. We accept that we are all Morpheus and Neo. Each of us is “she or he who awakens and she or he who is awakened”. We accept that humanity’s hope lies in more of us “taking the red pill,” actively seeking greater knowledge and understanding and risking like King and Gandhi and Mandela to serve the greater good.

8. Realize that the System cares primarily for itself. The Government, the Media and the Corporations are all institutions of ultimate worldly power and wealth whose survival depends on maintaining the illusion of democracy and freedom while resisting any and all challenges to their false reality. A powerful propaganda system is in place which ensnares tens of millions and effectively resists efforts by light-filled beings to pierce the darkness, expose the lies and confront the madness. Humanity’s survival depends on revealing the core suicidal mission of the globalized corporate empire and its misuse of our military to accomplish its aims.

9. Realize and accept that the system of profits above people, money above life, competition above cooperation, and material above spirit is the path of death; that the worldwide worship of wealth and power, the greed-driven illusion that we can never have enough is the core source of our pain, sorrow and suffering.

10. Finally, we realize and accept our responsibility to live out these principles of spiritual truth, social justice and mutual peace; to actively seek the means and methods to stand up for life values; to learn and express factual truth and knowledge about our government, corporate media and corporations while we recognize the self-in-other and the other-in-self and act consciously to promote wakefulness in our One True Self.
