CRG was formed in Redding in early 2002 in response to threats to freedom and national security, erosion of privacy rights, secrecy of homeland defense, continued dependence upon foreign oil and the escalation towards war. One of our goals is to continue to raise community awareness on issues. We believe that it’s patriotic to ask questions and expect straight forward answers.

MISSION: We support policies, activities and economic decisions that promote peace, healthy communities and a sound environment.

CRG has monthly meetings and sends selected information on peace and political issues to over 600 people in the Shasta County area. We convene meetings, community presentations and demonstrations, and encourage participation in the democratic process.

This year we have continued to fund (with your help) Democracy Now! on KIXE, we continue to support the People’s Press and First issues, and we are in the very beginning stages of exploring the possibility of establishing a progressive radio station in the Northstate. We have finalized our non-profit status with the State and Federal entities. We have instituted a series of What Can I Do? suggestions through our listserv mailing list and communicate with over 600 of you on a regular basis regarding the important events we and others are working on in the Northstate.We will review and explore in greater detail what actions are vital and necessary as we move ahead to ensure that 2007 is as successful as possible in staying true to our mission and our goals. We hope you will be inspired to join us and help formulate specific actions that we can all work together on implementing in the balance of the year.
